Bank wants to foreclose on south Florida church building

Foreclosure cases can be very complex and they can also involve many issues that are time-sensitive. Anyone in the Tampa area who is facing a foreclosure dispute should understand all of the factors that are involved.

A church in south Florida is facing foreclosure on its sanctuary after a bank recently filed a foreclosure lawsuit against the organization. The American National Bank is seeking payment on a loan it gave to the Monument of Faith church in 2006, for $2 million. According to reports the church may have already paid some of the loan off after selling an apartment building. However, it was not reported how much it still might owe the bank. The church’s bishop was not available for comment.

Reportedly, the bank wants to reclaim the more than 12,000-square-foot church, which it claims it still owns. The bank is also seeking to regain control of a home as well as a vacant property nearby, which is more than 55,000 square feet. It was not reported whether or not the church has the resources to pay the amount that is apparently overdue, or if it is in breech of its agreement.

When a person or a company is faced with a foreclosure lawsuit it doesn’t mean that the business or person in question has to move. There are many aspects to a foreclosure case and an experienced foreclosure attorney can help someone in such a predicament to fight for their rights and hold onto their property or home. Anyone who finds him or herself in this type of situation might want to speak with a foreclosure defense attorney.
